Okay, I thought I was going to be much better at keeping up with this blog, and I really was doing okay. Then I went home for Christmas break, where I did not have internet. While I did get tons of knitting done, I really could not post anything anything about it. Then I get back to school, and I realized all I have to do before I graduate. I freaked out, and also did not post anything. Now that my life is more under control, I really hope to get back on top of posting. But for now, here is a giant update!
Knitting:
I got so much knitting done over break! Pretty much nothing else in fact. I started with baby hats, then moved to head bands, had a brief stint in scarves, then settled into men's hats. I got my whole family joined in the knitting process, including some friends and krista's boyfriend :) My dad became my reluctant model, but since he was the only man around, he put up with it. As you can tell some things did not turn out, but thats fine, it just means more knitting for me. I also took some old sweaters apart, which was tons of fun! Now that I am back at school I am sticking with headbands and baby hats, although those go so quickly I am going to have to branch out and make some mittens and hobo handwarmers. But right now I am stressed, so I stick with what I know. Here are some pictures from Christmas break!
Chris's blanket: Its done! I finally finished it, and shipped it out to him. He said he loves it, and that it is big enough to fit his entire bed. Here is a picture of it finished, it is over 6 feet tall. It was such a relief to finish it, but now I feel like I have so much free time. Here is a picture of it. Naturally I cannot get the picture to flip the correct way, but you get the gist of it.
School:
I am taking 3 classes this semester, which is half of what I was taking last semester. But my classes are much tougher this semester, so it is close to the same amount of work. I also need to have a completed thesis by April 1, so that is taking up a lot of my time. It is all coming together, I have a wonderful advisor who knows exactly what I need and gives it to me. She can tell when I am overly stressed, and she knows when I need to challenge myself more. Without her, there is no way I would get this written.
Library and future planning:
I am still loving my internship at the library with Megan, I am learning so much. It is really useful not only in terms of learning about how a library operates, but also in terms of just knowing how to manage life after college. The future is so scary to me, and she helps to ease my fears.
I am still applying to graduate school at Central Michigan University and Wayne State. Where I go will depend on where I get in, and how I am feeling at the time. I am really excited for both programs, so neither will be a letdown.
Running:
I am finally able to run! I started a training program about a month ago, and I am not up to running every day. Hopefully I do not have anything that acts up, but I am much more confident about everything now. My ultimate goal is to break 42 in the 10k, so that is always on my mind while I am training. My current PR is 42:39, so I know if I am able to train well I can do it.
So that is my life right now, super exciting right? Well it keeps me occupied at least, so I guess I will stick with it for now. This Thursday, I hope to get some pictures at Brit Knits, because that is one of my favorite places to knit! Talk to you then.
